Buy stocks privately
Murk lets you hold and trade tokenized stocks — real equities like Apple, Tesla, and NVIDIA — as private, shielded positions, right alongside your other tokens.
Steps
- Open Stocks and pick a ticker (AAPLx, TSLAx, NVDAx, SPYx, …). Use the sector filters or search.
- In the trade panel, choose Private (or Public), enter an amount, and pick what you pay with (SOL or USDC).
- Review the live quote and confirm. In private mode your device proves the trade and it settles inside the pool — you receive a new private note in the stock. Selling reverses it back to SOL/USDC.
How it works
xStocks are ordinary Solana tokens (Token‑2022) issued by Backed Finance, each backed 1:1 by the underlying share and tradeable on Jupiter. So "buying a stock privately" is just a shielded swap — the same rail Murk already uses for any token — and needs no special support: no new program, no new proof.
- Buy = private swap
SOL / USDC → stock, held as a shielded note. - Sell = private swap
stock → SOL / USDC.
Your holdings, amounts, and trades stay private, exactly like every other shielded position.
Good to know
- Tokenized stocks trade 24/7 on‑chain. Trade quotes come from Jupiter, fetched through the relayer's proxy so your IP never reaches Jupiter. Displayed prices use Jupiter first and a public price API as a fallback, which is what keeps tickers priceable when a pair has no routable quote at that moment. A price older than 30 minutes is marked as a last-known price; if none can be established at all, Murk shows — rather than a stale or invented number.
- They show up in your Balances → Stocks tab and in History under the Stocks filter, so your stock activity is easy to separate from the rest.
- xStocks are not available in every region and are not investment advice. Availability and eligibility depend on the issuer.
